Moonlight Golf - NEW EARLIER DATE! Friday, August 28, 2009
-for adults 21 and up

Moonlight Golf, (457kb, PDF file) now in its 19th year at Deerfield Golf Club, has been moved to August for the first time; and, a new “Early Bird Stimulus Package Discount” is offered that is good through July 31. Up to 108 golfers will again be welcomed to the Deerfield Park Foundation’s Moonlight Golf Outing, set for Friday, August 28 for contests, dinner and five holes of golf with glow-in-the-dark supplies, beverages, after-golf desserts, prizes and more. Teams of up to 6 golfers, 21 years of age and up may sign up now. Teams of co-workers, neighbors, friends and relatives come out each year for this unique and fun event. The evening begins with registration at 5:30 p.m.; contests until about 6:45, then dinner and a brief orientation. The golf portion of the outing runs from dark through about 10:30 p.m., followed by awarding of prizes, desserts and raffles. The event also features a silent auction with a great variety of items.

Moonlight Golf is a best-ball, scramble golf outing, with most golfers shuttled via hayrack to starting holes. Golfers then walk the course, playing with no more than three clubs and one putter. The Outing is held at Deerfield Golf Club and Learning Center, 1201 Saunders, in Riverwoods.  Maximum of 18 teams accepted –first-come, first-served basis– based on form and payment received. This Moonlight Golf event is often a sell-out, so those interested in participating are encouraged to do so early. Area hotels –some offering shuttle service to and from the Golf Club- are located nearby.

Sponsorships are still available. Opportunities range from donations of dinner, beverages, desserts and prizes to Haywagon-, Contest-, and Event/Title- sponsorships. Some In-Kind sponsorships are also possible. Sponsors to date for 2009 include: Penguin Foods, K&M Team Outfitters, Northside Bank and Sam’s Club, Wheeling. All sponsors receive valuable benefits, including mentions in all publicity, programs and follow-up to local papers. Depending upon sponsorship level, opportunities for banner or signs, complimentary teams of golfers and more are also offered. Raffle and other prizes include golf foursomes, hotel overnight stays, dinners and much more.

All contributions to the Deerfield Park Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, nongovernmental agency, are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Proceeds benefit the Grants-in-Aid program, accessible playground funding, recycling containers for park/school locations, and other programs and services of Deerfield Park District.
