Deerfield Park District sports camps are for individuals interested in participating in a wide range of competitive sports throughout the summer. Some of the sports included are softball, soccer, football, kickball, dodgeball, basketball, fl oor hockey and volleyball. Field trips, demonstrations and swimming are a part of the curriculum for all the sports camps except for Rookies (only a ½ day, so swimming is not included). Swimming lessons are not offered through sports camps.

Competitive sports are a part of each camp, but the focus will change by age group. Rookies campers will focus more on the fundamentals of the sports while the Middle School campers will focus more on fi ne tuning skills and strategies and competing in tournaments. The other camps will fall in between to varying degrees.

In an effort to keep groups competitive, no buddy requests will be accepted for group development except for Rookies Sports Camp. Groups will be put together by the counselors based on athletic ability. Please note that campers are in their groups between 2 and 3 hours per day and they can spend the rest of the day with their friends.
